Stress can have a really profound effect on our daily lives.

Effecting us mentally, emotionally and physically.  And some of the ways that stress can impact us are anxiety and worry - a heightened state of anxiety and constant worrying, making it difficult to focus on tasks or relax.

It shows up in so many ways....

- Changes in mood

- Poor concentraion

- negative impact on cognitive function, making it harder to concentrate and make decisions

- Impact negative thoughts and fuel negative thinking patterns such as self doubt, pessimism and catastrophising situations

- It can impact us physically through muscle tension, digestive issues, appetite changes, neck and back pain, sleep problems, immune system.

- It can impact our behaviour, increase use of unhelpful coping mechanisms

- Social withdrawal, isolation, relationship issues, procrastination and avoidance

- It can impact our relationships, increase conflict, misunderstandings, arguments, lack of patience

And with addiction, and a loved one in that struggle - there is a lot of stress.   So we need a toolbox of ways to cope with that stress in a healthy way - and breathing is one of them.
